I must say that I laughed out loud at the second epigram! Truth be known, just thinking about it makes me smile heartily 😁

I have never heard of it! Definitively, I will buy a copy of it as soon as possible. I am deeply thankful for this recommendation.

By the way, I have a technical question for you - related to the ancient sources available in English. Which are the best anthologies of ancient texts, similar to the French one realized and published in 1960 by Jean Defradas, "La littérature grecque"? (If possible, with parallel texts - Greek and English.)

Thank you very much for your answer! I truly appreciate the translations published by Loeb Classical Library. However, my question was about an anthology—the one edited by Defradas, which contains fragments (and sometimes whole texts) from the following categories: Epic Poetry, Archaic Poetry, Drama, Historical Prose, Rhetoric, Philosophy, Literary Prose. In total, there are approximately 50 authors. Are such anthologies - if possible, like Loeb, with parallel texts - in English?

The second epigram reminds my father, who, when asked “Why don’t you visit a physician?” used to answer, “I do not need any help to die. I can do it alone.”
