I have so many questions on this. What is the Golden Line? Why did they nit use the Latin word ir the Greek hexameter? Why was it invented as a term and as a concept? Thank you!

The form of the line is as I described it. The name was invented in the 17th century when schoolboys were made to compose Latin verse. It was a form found in Latin, not Greek, hexameters. I give examples in the post. Hope that helps!

Yes saw the examples! Thank you. So this was for English schoolboys to practice and write poetry in the style/ verse that Virgil or other poets wrote?
